Paul J Lane

Paul J Lane grew up in London England UK, here he was influenced by his parents business of film hire retail shops where as a teenager had full exposure to every genre of film in the 1980's. This was a decade of less restricted censorship which left a mark on his cinematic eye allowing him to deliver the darkness and the light of emotion in each story he tells.

Paul's apprenticeship in film was initially through music video which inspired him to create an artist development school giving him the opportunity to create his first feature film for his song writers and singers. Upon orchestrating the auditions for this film, he saw a finer need to develop actors in the art of film and he created The Film Actors Academy (FACTA)
Since then Paul has won 33 IMDb listed awards as a Filmmaker.

Your project takes part in our festival. What is your project about?
It's about an ex-war photographer called Jacob Shaw who expresses his creative art through music with his band whilst suppressing a gruesome plan for family revenge on a London gang. This is interrupted by meeting a Femme Fatale April Harley, a war fanatic who sends him down a bloody, vengeful path.

How did you communicate with the cameraman?
Our Director of Photography is Katrina Ross, our main communication is through storyboarding each scene and breaking as many rules visually to find our uniqueness and style. We have worked together on my last 5 movies and she has won 2 awards for cinematography. She is also a Producer of the film Full House alongside Tony Fadil & Dany Emozione.

What locations did you choose for your project? And why?
All locations in and around London, I wanted to get that gritty feeling to create an Urban look that London has to offer. This type of look is influenced from my younger years performing in different venues as a musician in London.

Why should distributors buy your film?
One of our biggest assets in the movie is Ian Burfield, he has made excellent movies before such as "Who Is Erin Carter" "Pennyworth" & "The International"
Additionally our track record within making films equates to a high number of awards although the ultimate edge is our story telling.
