Sana Norouzbaki

With an education in Bachelor of Architecture from Shiraz University, Iran and Master of Urban Design from Azad University, Iran; She has made her distinguished mark as a Film Maker, Art Director, Production Designer & Costume Designer for some really notable projects that include short films like Panah, A Morsel of Love, Painting, The Briefcase and Hello Mumbai.

Your project takes a part in our festival. What is your project about?
"The painting "short film in the horror genre and about the dream of a lonely girl with an unexpected situation.

What were your requirements for actors to take a part of your film?
The story turns into a crisis in an atmosphere full of happiness and peace, and since almost the entire film is played with one actor, the choice of "Kimia Khalaj "was very important to me.

How did you communicate with the cameraman?
Interaction with "Reza Nahvi "as a cinematographer in lighting and filming was one of my most important concerns in this film because I wanted to tell the story without using the usual shadows and colored lights in the horror genre, which "Reza" did well as cinematographer.

What locations did you choose for your project? And why?
The location of the film was my house. I had thought about this story many times in the place where I live.

Why should distributors buy your film?
I think the main idea of this movie that makes it different from other movies of this genre is the experience of unexpected horror on a happy, sunny day in the safe environment of the house.

What expression elements did you use in your project? How would you characterize your work?
Emphasizing the principle of lack of security despite the apparent security. when the character faces an uncontrollable situation in a house that is her safe place on a sunny and happy day when she thinks that she is in control of the situation, this summary of the idea This is what I have always thought to express without using the elements of horror, shadows and lighting usual in this genre.

At what festivals have you had success? Has the film already premiered? If so, where?
Yes, the film has been shown on the Dark Fan YouTube channel (@DarkFunHorror) and "MISSION ARTS COUNCIL" festival in Canada.

What motivated you to become a filmmaker?
I have been active in the field of set and costume design in cinema for many years. Because of my experiences, I have always had a desire to make films and develop ideas.

Which movies are your favorites? And why?
I am very interested in Lars von Trier's films because they are always full of hidden layers and surprises, for example, Dance in the Dark is full of sadness , unlike the appearance of a musical movie.

What topics do you like to deal with in your work?
I am always interested in the issue of psychological or sexual identity and saving the environment.

What genre do you like to shoot and why?
I am interested in horror and drama genres.

What project would you like to shoot one day, what would it be about?
 Making a project about children and the environment has always been a concern for me.

How has COVID affected your film life?
In fact, the initial idea of this story was formed during the time of covid because we had to stay at home all day. Finally, after a long time, this idea was made at the request of Dark Van Harver with a limited and special group in my house.

What do you do if you're not thinking about a movie? What are your hobbies?
Due to my studies in architecture and urban planning, in addition to filmmaking,set and costume design, I also do interior and urban design, which is not unrelated to filmmaking.

What projects do you plan to shoot in the future?
Due to my interest in the environment, I am researching and writing a children's script about the environment, and I have recently completed the short film Suitcase in the horror genre, commissioned by the Dark Fun Horror channel.
